Day 2: The Gift That Keeps Giving

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:14

This single verse establishes so many hard-hitting truths for the Christian. The most prominent of truths is that this verse (along with many others) proves that Jesus Christ was literally made by the truth of God. His WORD became flesh. God cannot lie (Numbers 23:19), and when His Word became flesh, it literally means His truth was born in a physical form (that is the Lord Jesus Christ). This is the rejoicing factor of all Christians far and wide, because we know for a truth that Jesus, who has proven to have existed, is in fact the sinless, spotless, Lamb of God. "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29

Aside from the fact that Jesus literally says He is God in the flesh (John 10:30; John 8:58) The verses in John 1 are clear and cannot be argued, that this Jesus was in fact God's Word made into real physical form. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1. This is the gift that keeps on giving. It's the perfect comfort, love, and understanding that God has given every person. Many have passed over the idea that Christ could be God.

Some have written Christ off as simply a great teacher, or a great prophet (which if He was simply just a teacher or prophet, can He lie? If not, then Him proclaiming Himself to be God would have to be true!) Some have written Him off as one that became A GOD, He was not God to begin with (which would make the whole of John 1 a complete lie, and it would not hold for the Baptist who paved the way nor for the entirety of Isaiah 9 or any of the Bible for that matter). G.K. Chesterton said, "One false theory can falsify a hundred facts." The Word of God cannot lie, and that is the best gift we can continually receive each day.
