Day 3: Stronger Than Before

"But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold." Job 23:10

It's never a desire for anyone to experience trials, but Job makes it sound like he's desirous for it just for growth. While we don't need to desire trials, we can use this as a great example to remember when trials come. Even more so, God purposely puts us through trials so we are able to come out on the other side better than before.

Job is a perfect example of this. God allowed Satan to take nearly everything from Job, besides his life. His kids lives were taken, all his livestock was taken, he was plagued with boils and sorrow. He was being physically and spiritually tortured. He had every reason to be depressed and confused and to turn on God, yet he never did. He continued to trust God and hope that God would help in his time of trouble. He had his doubts, of course, but he still never turned against God.

When he lost his kids and all his belongings he was of course distraught, but notice his response in Job 1:21, "Naked came i out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." What a powerful response to such a hard situation.

Maybe there is something in your life that God has allowed Satan to tempt you with. Will you turn from God and allow Satan to win the battle? Job 1:11 says that Satan believed that Job would curse God if everything was taken from him, "But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face." Don't allow Satan to win, be encouraged that at the end of the greatest of trials, God will pull you through and you will come out stronger than ever before.
