Day 10: Faithful To Never Change

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." Hebrews 13:8

What a truly blessed realization to know that God never changes. We don't have to ever worry about God being different than He was before. The God of the Old Testament is the same God of the New Testament and the God of the New Testament is the same God we serve today. What an amazing thing to know that God will be consistent. Malachi 3:6 says, "For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed."

God will stay in His throne. He will continue to show His glory, and He will continue to save those that will believe. "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9 God stays who He is out of love for us so that we can go to Him in faith, knowing He will be there and He will be the same. His truth never changes. We may have changed over the years, and there may have been new advancements, there may have been new medications and new forms of living and dieting, but God still saves the same way today that He did in the bible.

We change throughout our lives. One second we are interested in one thing and the next second we want something else. Even Christians suffer from this ADD mentality, we have what I like to call "Christian ADD". We are following God and suddenly Satan tempts us with something shiny and we veer off the path of Christ. Don't fall for it. Keep your focus on Christ. God is faithful to remain on the course and all we must do it follow Him. We must consistently follow Him and remember that He is the one who rewards us in the end.

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2 We can remain faithful, because God remains faithful!
