Day 7: Faithful Compassion

"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23

O the peace of salvation. I've spent a great deal of time studying through the beginning creations of earth. It's an amazing picture of God's glory. The first day He created the light and darkness (Genesis 1:3-5), then the fourth day He made the sun, moon and stars (Genesis 1:13-19). The second day He made the water and sky (Genesis 1:6-8), then the fifth day He created animals for the water and the sky (Genesis 1:20-23). On the third day He created land, sea and vegetation (Genesis 1:9-12), and on the sixth day He made animals of the earth and human beings (Genesis 1:24-31). See the way He created all things? He did not make the sun and moon first to make sense of the light and darkness, He made those things to give source of it three days later. He gave source to the water and sky three days later. Source to the land, sea, and vegetation three days later. He gave source to life when He died rising again three days later defeating death.

Our God has everything down to a science, there is no mistake. "As for God, his way is perfect, the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him." 2 Samuel 22:31 The Earth is perfectly tilted, the sun and moon are perfectly distanced and all things are perfectly collected in their proper places in order to have a sustained life in this universe. If the sun was just a few inches closer we would all burn up and catch fire. If the moon gets too close we would all be underwater. If all the stars were the size of all the planets our world would be destroyed. We spin around the sun, the Earth rotates by itself, the rains gather by themselves and so on and so forth. How amazing it is to know that tomorrow, the sun will rise and set and we have no worry about being burned alive.

But if that isn't a worry to you, there may be one worry that is, and that is your souls matter. You may have thought of eternity at some point and the thought of dying has scared you, and maybe even given you a mentality of "I only have one life and I have to make it count". Don't let fear gear your life towards one that's worth living, but let the love of God guide you. When we trust in Christ we can be assured in our eternal destiny, not having to worry what comes after this life. God promises we will have everlasting life in Heaven and we can be assured that His faithfulness to keep His promises are kept. Ephesians 1:13 says, "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,"

God is faithful to keep your soul and you can know FOR sure that He has you in His hands. "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:" Isaiah 59:1
