"Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him." Psalms 33:8
Why do we have locks on our doors? Why do we have weapons to defend ourselves with? Why do we have rings to signify our marriage? Why do we have a Bible that we swear to in court rooms? Imagine a world where everyone feared the God that said "Thou shalt not kill; Thou shalt not commit adultery; Thou shalt not steal; Thou shalt not bear false witness;" Imagine a world that didn't argue over petty little things.
Do you have that image in your mind? How safe and awe inspiring. Sadly, we will never achieve this type of world while there is sin. We are all guilty of these same sins. We are all guilty of not fearing the Lord. How amazing it would be if we could live in a world where we didn't have to lock our doors for fear of theft. The best gun control would be fearing the Lord. The easiest way to tell if someone is lying or not is in their faith in God. Romans 9:1 says, "I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,"
What an amazing thought it is if all the earth had fear for the Lord. As Christians we are to set forth this example in hopes that others will see it and desire this same thing. We will not see this world until eternity, but we can give those that don't know a taste of what eternity has to offer, and even more so, God commands us to be like-minded with Him, so that we are prepared for this lifestyle in eternity. Think about how can you, starting today, show a Christ-like example in a dangerous world.
