Day 3: Morally Faithful

"Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil." 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3

Oftentimes, when we think of God's faithfulness we think about how faithful He is to Himself. He is faithful to do what He wants and needs, but He is also faithful to do what He calls us to do. He is faithful to help YOU move and do what needs to be done. With God's calling always comes God's enabling. It's amazing that anyone would put so much effort into something to see themselves victorious and yet not put any effort into their own eternities. People constantly die in gyms all around the world due to over exercising their physical body.

Why are none of us willing to overexercise our souls for eternity? This life is but for a short time, and too many of us spend it on temporal things. "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." James 4:14 It stands to reason that if you are not choosing the wiser things of God you are choosing perhaps the weaker things of the world. What we consider to be strong in this world, God considers to be weak. 1 Corinthians 1:27 says, "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;" God is the only one who can have the absolute moral difference between what is good and what is evil. Many have said that society should be the one to choose that. Let's believe this for a second.

If society were to choose what was morally right or wrong than someone like... say... Martin Luther King Jr. should be considered a heretic and a rebel against history and we should not have a day for him. But we celebrate him. Why? Because he went against society and went with what was absolutely morally right in the eyes of God. Life would be so backwards if we established what was morally acceptable and what was morally not. But the Lord is faithful and will keep you from evil. Trust in His absolute morality, trust in His absolute faithfulness, not your own and not the worlds. Don't be led astray by what sounds good, but be confident in what is positively proven to BE good.
